Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan, who is also called the Queen of Funk, is a well-known American musician. In the course of her career that spans more than fifty years the singer was awarded 10 Grammys. Billboard declared her to be the 65th most famous dancer in history. Her grandmother introduced her to jazz while she was a child. Early in her career, she was a member of various groups. Then, she joined a group known as Rufus. She released her first album in the band around the age of 20. A year later the group won their first Grammy. In the following year, she made her debut an independent artist and the album was self-titled. Through the years, she has recorded a few albums including "Echoes from an Era,"' 'The Woman I Am,' and Funk This. Apart from her work in music, she's also earned a reputation for her charity work. The foundation she founded was The Chaka Khan Foundation to help children with families in need, along with those suffering from autism. Khan is also an occasional actor. She appeared as Carrie in the musical. Carrie as a character in the Broadway musical "Mama I'm a Singing Lady.'
