Kari Sam Wuhrer, born on April 28, 1968, is an American actor and singer. Wuhrer started her career when she was a teenager. Her most well-known role is for playing Maggie Beckett on the TV series Sliders and also her role as her character, Sheriff Samantha Parker, in the thriller-comedy film Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer was raised in Brookfield Connecticut as her mother was Karin Noble and worked as a cashier, and German American Andrew Wuhrer. She is the mother of three brothers and sisters. As a teenager, she sang in nightclubs and would sneak out of the house to sing. She studied acting from when she was 13 years old at Wooster School. Later, she studied drama at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Marymount Manhattan College, Columbia University, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts along with renowned instructor Uta Hagen.Kari Samantha Wuhrer is an American model, actress, and singer. Kari has 3 siblings. The singer was in nightclubs when she was a teenager sneaking out of the house to sing. Kari aged 13 years old, attended the Wooster School as well as Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. She also attended drama classes at Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College, Marymount Manhattan College College, plus The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where she had a teacher renowned as Uta. Kari started performing at the age of a teenager. Her breakthrough came in 1987 with MTV Remote Control.
