Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English performer and songwriter, was born in London on 22 August 1995. After a stint as a model and actress, she signed with Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. It reached 3 among the U.K. Charts and produced eight singles. This included Be the one I.D.G.A.F, the U.K. Number One single New Rules as well as the U.K. No. 1 single New Rules. Lipa was awarded her Brit Awards in 2018 for British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough Act, and her album has been certified platinum in a variety of countries. Her parents were Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is the reason Dua Lipa is Bosnian heritage. Her ancestors are also traced back to Kosovo Peja city. Peja. The two grandparents of Lipa are historians. Lipa is the younger sister of Rina Lipa, and has another younger brother named Gjin. Lipa's father, the guitar player and singer in the Kosovan group Oda has influenced her in music. Lipa started to sing at the age of five years old. When she was nine, she started singing at Sylvia Young Theater School.
